RIP Sweet, Sexy, Soulful - Eartha
My favorite Catwoman and truly one of the most amazing singers to ever have lived. Eartha Kitt will be very missed by myself and millions of others.

1980's and BIG HAIR -- Memories
Cyndi is the one who let me know that any hair color is fine and more than one is even better. Oh, those big earrings with faces on them, it is hard to find things like that these days.
Madonna made me desperately want and buy those big bow things for my hair and lace gloves with cut out fingers.
Oh and that big hair! I don't know about everyone else, but to get hair that big I had to always be permed. I still can't believe I got up hours before I had to be anywhere just to do my BIG hair. Hair spray, scrunch spray, mousse, blow driers and most importantly -- curling irons. It is a wonder my hair survived.
I didn't have shiny black vinyl pants, but I did have lots of legging. Yeah, long shirts and a belt went with those. Who could live without some ankle boots to go with that outfit?

Shoe Update!
and exclaimed something like "ohmygodthosearethemostbeautifulshoesIwantthem" and so my darling husband said he'd buy them for me for an early Christmas/Hanukkah whatever present, handed me his credit card, and now they're on their way! Thank you sweetie!

Ah, Shoes!
A co-worker had these on the other day, and all of us stopped her and drooled over them for what seemed like hours. We couldn't help ourselves. I mean, there they were . . . what could we do?
She said she bought them at Macy's; I found them on-line at Shoes.com for the same price, they weren't any cheaper. $99.00, which isn't cheap, but good shoes that feel good and don't hurt your feet are worth every penny.
I love these shoes! I MUST have them. I have no idea if I'll be able to walk in them, but I can try. She said they were very comfortable, extremely so. Have to be, she's a teacher and on her feet all day.
The Purity Ball
Frankly, I find the whole concept of these to be sick!
These girls pledge to remain "pure" and instead put on their best ball gowns and dance with dad. Sure fathers and teen daughters should do things together, but not things that resemble a marriage ceremony!

You Are a Turtleneck Sweater |
You are sophisticated, streetwise, and even a little cynical. You are quite cultured, and you don't fall for gimmicks or trends easily. You are naturally chic. You have a urban, cosmopolitan style. And you know that the secret to looking good is not trying too hard! |
I agree the turtleneck is classic, but not on me, lol!

Australia and a hottie!
Last week I saw Australia and I have to say that I was slightly disappointed. It certainly wasn't a bad movie, but it also wasn't as great as I had hoped with both Jackman and Kidman starring.
One of the things I didn't like about it was that it is a movie with two great stories -- one of a cattle drive and the other a WWII story. Either of these tales would have made a great movie, but both of them together, one after the other, just didn't feel right to me.
The flaws aside, we have a pretty tasty romance story. And frankly, few things could be better than the half naked Jackman washing himself off out on the trail. I looked for a photo of that on the internet and had no luck.
I will also say the movie could have used some extra gratuitous nakedness and sex especially with two such great looking people in it.
Overall though -- entertaining, slightly sexy and quite a lot of adventure and romance. It is near 4 stars to me, but not quite there.

What Tina Fey Wants
Just an interesting bit from the Tina Fey interview --
read the rest here --Around the same time, Fey saw an entertainment reporter on TV say that Palin had been gracious toward Fey, but Fey hadn’t been gracious toward Palin. “What made me super-mad about it,” Fey says later, “was that it seemed very sexist toward me and her. The implication was that she’s so fragile, which she is not. She’s a strong woman. And then, also, it was sexist because, like, who would ever go on the news and say, ‘Well, I thought it was sort of mean to Richard Nixon when Dan Aykroyd played him,’ and ‘That seemed awful mean to George Bush when Will Ferrell did it.’ And it’s like, No, that’s not the thing. This is a comedy sketch on a comedy show.” “Mean,” we agreed, was a word that tends to get used on women who do satirical humor and, as she says, “gay guys.”
“I feel clean about it,” she says. “All these jokes were fair hits.”
